Everyone is constantly complaining about staying home, about restaurants being closed and stuff… And the festival season was the wort. 🤷🏼♀️ I had a good year, I really did. But if I am being completely honest with you I also miss two things. Terribly.
Theater and flea markets.
Yes, it would be nice to have dinner in a restaurant from time to time. Yes, it would also be nice to go to a party like once a year. But I must admit that I wouldn’t go even if I could. But I’d surely like the idea of things being possible to do again, even if I would most probably choose still not to go anywhere.
But to be fair you can eat at home as well. And quite good actually. Meals are always exactly as expected, not disappointments. Ever. Proof is me getting fat. You can also party at home. If you really want to. Proof is Erno himself. 😅 But theater!.. That’s something you can’t have at home. Not even with all that drama we live on a daily basis… And flea markets!.. I mean, sure. Our home already looks like a museum, and we surely don’t need any more stuff. Also, you can find online some great vintage treasures but the hunting process! The dust, the treasures you find coverd with it, the prices, the whole thing!.. There’s nothing like that. If you are into that, I’m sure you know what I am talking about, don’t you?
Unfortunately I have no solutions for the theater problem. There are companies who are streaming some of their previous plays regularly on their Facebook page and stuff. But its just really not the same feeling… 😔 But. BUT! I have a solution for the flea market problem. 🙈
NUCA is organizing a donation based charity fair for the animals in their care 3-4 times a year. They are pretty much like flea markets and you can find so many lovely things there. Let me show you some of my findings!
Aaaand my biggest treasure, my vintage engagement ring. It’s not technically my finding, as it was Erno who found it, of course. But can you imagine a better story for my ring than this? 🤍 I can’t. Helping animals in need was always my number one priority in life, and getting married is a really expensive business so imagine how happy I was when I realized that at least part of that money went to a cause I believe in.
On the 14th of February, as in on Sunday this weekend I am going on a new treasure hunt at Nuca Garage Sale to satisfy my flea-market urge and to support their activity, of course. Can’t wait! See you there, I hope.
