They say that dogs are man’s best friends. And they’re totally right. But a small part of the whole truth is that a dog will also bring you close to other people. Basically, you don’t just get a best friend when you get a dog. You get plenty.
She’s our neighbor. We only met her because we moved here in 2017 to be closer to nature for Pesto’s daily walks. And because in 2018 she got a dog as well. And because Pesto and Aki, became best friends the second they met. So… we started to walk them together as much as we could, and slowly we became friends too. I actually decided that I want to be friends with her when we talked about food, diets and recipes one night, while we walked the boys and I mentioned that we don’t eat meat. And her reaction wasn’t like “woooow, seriously?! So where do you get your protein from?”, she simply said “me neither”. So we vibed.
And we shared so many walks since then, and so many healthy (or not so healthy) but totally meat-free meals, we spent so much time in nature together, but also on the road (she was my ride for all those months that Erno spent in England. She even helped me take Frizzante home that night when I decided to foster him. “Foster”. 😅 Who am I kidding? 🤣
She is crazy about him. In fact, both Frizz and Pesto. And I’m crazy about that silly Aki of hers too. Even if he barks at me all the time we visit or meet and he can annoy me like no one else (except 2 other dogs of two other friends, whom I also love, obviously). You probably know who you are. 😂 Because real friends are crazy about each other’s dogs. 🤷🏼♀️
P.s. Don’t worry if you didn’t find those friends yet, your dog will make sure you will! 🤍
