Let’s talk about sweets, shall we?
I’m a foodie. But I’m not a sweet tooth. Sometimes weeks can pass by and the only sweets I ate were a banana shake and maybe some cranberry sauce with “meat” balls. Even when I do eat sweets I choose something very light. A vanilla icecream, or strawberries with cream, an eclair or something really not so sweet. No wonder it’s the first dessert recipe in 6 months, right? 😂
However this one is totally worth to be the first one. One of my fav desserts since I was a child. It’s very simple, cheap, and somehow related to the communism in my country so not the best choice for most people who lived in those times. 😅 But I think it’s great and it deserves to be reinvented.
What you will need:
- If you are lazy as I am, you’ll need a chestnut purée. It can be canned or packed just like butter. If you are not that lazy you can make your own, using this recipe.
- Sugar (for the cream)
- 1 pomegranate
- Cocoa powder
Grate the chestnut purée. Put it in bowls or a glass and put it back immediately into the fridge. You want to keep its lovely texture. Prepare the cream. Clean the pomegranate. Add it on the top of your chestnut puree, then add the cream. Sprinkle some cocoa powder on top. Serve it cold.
P.s. don’t forget the secret ingredient. 🐈
