Be kind and surround yourself with kind people.
Don’t worry about the second part. You would say you can’t change people, but actually, you can. Not completely, but just enough to become a kinder version of themselves. It will come naturally. If you are kind, you’ll turn people kind around you. That’s just how it works. True, some people, won’t be able to follow you. That’s sad. But you’ll find it very easy to let them go, and in time others will come into your life to replace them.
A few years ago if some of my friends would found an animal in need they would call and ask if I could take care of it. Now they call and ask for advice. And they listen, mostly. 🤭 They finally understood that if I can help, they can help as well. They learned that if we all do our small part, we will build a better world for ourselves and all living beings around us. We will make a kinder world.
If you start being kind and you help the animals you meet on your way, you will automatically have the superpower of turning your people into kinder beings just the way I did. This is the way our magic spreads. And this is how we can make a change, because together we are a lot stronger and way more efficient.
3 rescues in less then 2 weeks and none of them initiated by me. I’m super proud of my kind people. 🤍 You know who you are, and you are the best!
10 days ago, we met the friends of Pesto and Frizz (and Riso) in the woods. It’s actually quite funny, but when your dogs become good friends with another dog you’ll most probably become friends with their owners. 😅 So we had coffee in the woods on a Sunday morning with our friends, while the boys were playing around with their friends. 🙈 After coffee we decided to take a walk and get some mushrooms. We came home with like 10-15 kg of parasol mushrooms (microlepiota procera). That’s a lot, I know. 🤭 But what has all this to do with rescue? Wait until I show you what our friends went home with that day. Tadaaa!
Yeah, they went home with almost the same amount of mushrooms aaaand… another dog. He was chained near the forest and left there to die. Shocking, yet still quite common here in Romania. 🤷🏼♀️ They are now fostering him and they do a wonderful job.
Like 4 days later, my husband sent me the cutest pictures ever. Look at this.
This baby owl accidentally hit the window of the room where Erno was working and he fell. Erno opened the window just in time to stop other people, who also saw the accident, to finish the bird’s suffering by simply ending his life. This is something very common here in Romania too. I don’t know about the rest of the world, but here if someone finds an animal hurt or in pain he might try to end its life. But there are cases when that would be unnecessary and completely wrong, like this one for example. The baby owl wasn’t hurt, only shocked. All he needed was a chance to stay alive. He was released, of course, as soon as he was ready.
Finally. A few nights ago we made dinner at one of our friends. (Parasol mushrooms, again. This might become the lightmotiv of animal rescue). When we sat down and started eating, another friend called and told us that there is a lost or abandoned rabbit down the street. We got up immediately, we prepared everything and ten minutes later the rabbit was eating his dinner in Mascara’s old cage at our friend’s house where we finnished our meal. Who new “șnițel” made from parasol mushroom is so delicious even cold. 🤭
Be kind, people! Be kind, and teach others to be kind. Be an example. Help others to be an example. And when they are, be proud of them. Be proud of the magic you spread. 🔮
