Forgive me Father for I have sinned. Confessions of a wannabe vegan no 4726384. Yes, I’ve failed again.
I made some körözött. Which is probably the best hungarian food ever. Everyone knows about gulyás & co. But who ate or heard about körözött?

Körözött is a spreadable cheese cream made from cottage cheese, sweet paprika powder, kumin seeds and onions. 🤤 Grandma used to make it for dinner. It was always served with toast and tomatoes. 🍅
Ingredients:
- 500 gr cottage cheese
- 1 tablespoon of sweet paprika powder
- 1 teaspoon of kumin seeds
- 1 big onion
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 3 tablespoon of sour cream
- Salt
Chop the onion, normally you have to chop it in really small pieces but I prefer it crunchy. Mix the cottage cheese, the butter and the sour cream. Add the paprika, the kumin, the onion and some salt. Leave it in the fridge for a couple of hours. Serve it with fresh vegetables (try it with tomatoes, it goes really well with it) and toast for an easy summer dinner or for breakfast with a hot cup of tea.

P.s. if you know about a vegan cottage cheese option in Romania, please let me know!!! And please don’t judge. Im trying my best here like you probably do as well. I will pay it’s price anyway. Each time I eat cheese my skin looks like shit for days. My body really can’t deal with such amount of fat at once. 🤷🏼♀️ If it was worth it? Idk. For the moment I feel it was, but tomorrow in front of the mirror while trying to cover my pimples I’ll probably think “f*ck it. I’ll never eat cheese again!”
