It’s true. We also eat bacon. We basically eat everything. We eat bacon, hot dogs, burgers, salmon, fish fingers, salami. The only difference is, no one has to die for the ‘meat’ we eat. Sounds good, doesn’t it?
A few months ago I discovered Verdino. Verdino products are alternative meat made from pea protein. It’s healthy, it’s sustainable, it’s cruelty-free and tasty af. If you don’t know them yet, you should definitely try their products.
In our family bacon wasn’t really on the menu, and I’m a vegetarian basically ever since I cook my own food. So when I first saw Verdino also has bacon I didn’t buy it, because I had no idea how to use it. I heard about this recipe from a friend a few weeks later so we tried it right away and we loved it very very much. It’s one of my husband’s favorite dishes for the moment and he asks me quite often to make some Vegan Broccoli Bacon Salad for dinner.
All you have to do is make some vegan mayo (I usually make it from soy milk & black salt, I will share that recipe too and I will link it here) or if you are not there just yet some normal mayonnaise or greek yogurt will be just fine, don’t worry. You already made a huge step using alternative meat. Cook the “bacon”, chop your broccoli, make the dressing, add the other ingredients (don’t forget the secret ingredient, tho), and leave it in the fridge before you go out with your dogs. It will be just perfect for after the walk.
